It all began when two worlds came together. Charlie grew up in a family where science took center stage. Taam grew up in a family where art reigned supreme. Two completely different backgrounds, but with one shared conviction: knowledge only truly takes root when conveyed through art, and art is only meaningful when it conveys knowledge.
To find that sweet spot, they traveled the world—from LARP schools in Denmark to rituals in Bali. In 2016, they co-founded Helden Inc. with a single mission: to help companies truly get their message across. Not through PowerPoint presentations or boring workshops, but through interactive games that transform teams.
To date, Helden Inc. has developed and deployed more than 500 games at over 200 organizations—from Heineken and Google to the Dutch government and ABN AMRO. With the launch of the Experience Assistant, an AI-powered system that sends experience reminders, Taam and Charlie are taking the next step in gamification.

The challenge
Heineken wanted to bring together 200 employees from various departments. Previous team-building days featuring workshops had yielded disappointing results—low engagement and no visible impact on collaboration.
The solution
Helden Inc. developed a custom escape room at the Heineken site. All 200 employees were divided into teams that had to work together to solve puzzles. Each puzzle required communication, teamwork, and creative thinking.
The result
