A strategy session in the form of an Escape Room
"In two weeks we are going to organize a strategy session, and it has to be big" said our friends at Solarfields in a Teams Meeting. We do love a challenge and immediately cleared our calendars to create a custom EPIC strategy session.
The strategy session had three main components: Reflecting on the past, visualizing the future and plotting the path to that dot on the horizon.
Our premise was that if you want people to become visionaries, leaders and strategists, you also have to design a world in which they can do that. So that was our task.

A strategy session on steroids
Solarfields employees were immersed in a veritable Escape Adventure that lasted a whopping four hours. The office had been transformed into an exciting escape room. One by one, the company's employees were sent up in a dark elevator and ended up in the middle of the game. Coat off, poncho on and quick! Because, the CEO was been kidnapped!
Who is responsible for this? Who is the mole? Where do we find the next hints? How do we move forward? Where the employees normally discuss their weekend at the coffee machine, there were now all sorts of games with riddles to solve worden to find answers and move forward. Across the entire floor of the office, several rooms were set up with different games. Lights, sounds and music were used to create an exciting atmosphere.

A strategy session on steroids
During the gameSolarfields employees had to find out during the strategy session who had kidnapped their CEO. Puzzles, riddles, a confession room, actors, an on-site laser game: everything was covered. In between the various games, the players thought about the future of the company during strategy sessions with a coach to think about the future of the company.
The game was Corona-proof made and distributed in small groups over several days. This allowed all employees to safely participate in the escape game. And with success: everyone was very enthusiastic andn extra creative!
